Prostate Cancer Awareness Month takes place each year during the month of September

September is prostate cancer awareness month. It’s the second most common disease for men in the USA. About 1 in 7 men will be diagnosed in 2017, according to the American Cancer Society.

That translates to 161.360 new cases this year. A new study confirms that PSA tests can reduce the risk of death by 30% from prostate cancer.

The PSA test is especially important for men over the age of 40, who should get checked and talk to their physician on a regular basis about this potential threat.
