According to Bill, his father had an enlarged Prostate which prompted him to get his PSA tested starting in his 40’s.
Unfortunately, the US preventive services task force recommends not getting a PSA test early. However, Bill emphasizes on the importance of getting a PSA test early as it helped in the early detection of prostate cancer and how it may be unwise not to get tested and risk detecting prostate cancer at a late stage which could be life threatening. 230,000 men were diagnosed with prostate cancer in 2015 leading to over 30,000 fatalities and some of these mortalities may have been prevented with early detection.
Bill, who lives in Boise Idaho decided that he will travel to New York to consult with Dr. David Samadi over a year ago & states that he’s extremely happy with that decision. He states that the hospital ‘is terrific & he couldn’t be any happier with the facilities, Dr. Samadi’s office on Madison Avenue & staff who are compassionate, caring and thorough’.
Bill started researching the best prostate cancer treatment option available to him when his PSA levels started going up. His research indicated that Dr. David Samadi was the most experienced surgeon when it came to removal of the prostate gland due to prostate cancer. He also found that Dr. Samadi had the best nerve sparing results which was particularly important to him as impotence and incontinence are associated with nerve damage which he was afraid of as quality of life was extremely important to him.
Bill encourages all men to get their PSA tested early & not to be afraid as it’s a quick and simple test that could end up saving their lives.
