Dr. David Samadi currently supervises the Men’s Health Division at St. Francis Hospital in Roslyn, New York. He is a Urologic Oncology Expert and Robotic Surgeon specialized in the detection, diagnosis, and treatment of urologic diseases, prostate cancer, kidney cancer, and bladder cancer. Dr. Samadi is one of the few surgeons in the United States trained in oncology, open surgery and advanced minimally invasive treatments for prostate cancer, such as laparoscopic radical prostatectomy and laparoscopic robotic radical prostatectomy.

To this date, Dr. Samadi has performed over 7000 robotic prostate surgeries. The doctor has developed his own tested technique, called SMART (Samadi Modified Advanced Robotic Technique) surgery, using the da Vinci Robotic System. The uniqueness of this approach lies in its minimally invasive character and high success rate. There are three important goals dr. Samadi wants to achieve: complete removal of the cancerous cells, sexual potency and urinary continence.

Dr. David Samadi’s Education

David Samadi attended the State University of New York at Stony Brook and majored in biochemistry, on a full scolarship.

Later, he enrolled at S.U.N.Y. Stony Brook School of Medicine, earning an M.D. in 1994.
In 1996 he completed his postgraduate training in urology at Montefiore Medical Center.
In 2001, he completed an oncology fellowship at the ‘Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center’ majoring in proctology.
The same year he entered the American Urologic Association Society of Urologic Oncology, first as a member and later as chairman of the group. His mission is to promote the highest standards of urological care, through education and practice.
Next year, he completed a fellowship in robotic radical prostatectomy in France, under the mentorship of Professor Claude Abbou, who contributed immensely in the development of robotics in urology.

In 2007, Dr. David Samadi has succeeded to modify the advanced robotic technique in order to improve the sex life of prostate cancer patients who undergo prostate surgery. SMART Surgery is a minimally invasive procedure, the prostate being approached from the inside out, rather than from the outside in. This revolutionary approach spares the nerves responsible for the sexual and urinary functions, the best results being achieved.

Between January 2011 and June 2013, Dr. David B. Samadi was the Chief of Robotic Surgery at Mount Sinai Medical Center. He also became a contributor and medical consultant for Fox News.

Starting with June 2013 until June 2019, Dr. David Samadi was the Urologic Oncology Expert and Robotic Surgeon at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York City. Here, Dr. Samadi performed the DaVinci prostatectomy along with his modified robotic technique, SMART Surgery.

Currently, Dr. David Samadi acts as Director of Men’s Health at St. Francis Hospital in Roslyn, New York.
